Educational and cultural background
My name is Rosa Daneshvar, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My journey to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep desire to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. I originally earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle and spent several years working in drug development at one of the world’s largest biopharmaceutical companies. However, I found myself craving a more personal and direct connection in my work. This realization led me to pursue my true calling—helping others through therapy. While earning my counseling credentials, I also worked as a math instructor at UW-Madison, further deepening my passion for education and personal growth. Every day, I feel grateful to do work that is both meaningful and fulfilling. I am originally from Iran and am bilingual in English and Farsi (Persian), allowing me to connect with a diverse range of clients.

Therapeutic approaches and techniques:
I take a client-centered approach, meaning I follow your lead in exploring the areas that matter most to you and working toward your personal goals. My practice is grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity, with a deep belief in each person’s innate capacity to heal. Together, we will navigate the challenges, symptoms, and obstacles that may be holding you back, creating a path toward growth and healing. Based on your unique needs, I incorporate a range of therapeutic techniques, including DBT, CBT, IFS, meditation, and mindfulness. Additionally, I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting to help process and heal from trauma. Clients often describe me as compassionate, nonjudgmental, and genuine, qualities that foster a safe and supportive space for transformation.
